How to Make Watermelon Pizza (Fun Snack for Kids!)
The other day, I had a group of kids at my house — and you know how that goes… snacks are basically a requirement every 30 minutes. I needed something that would both feed them and keep them entertained for more than 10 seconds.
So we made watermelon fruit pizzas — and it totally worked.
The kids had fun choosing their toppings, it gave us a few solid minutes of calm (moms, you know what I mean), and they actually ate what they made. Win!
A fun, refreshing, no-cook summer snack perfect for kids.
What We Used (all from the farmers market!):
Thick slices of watermelon (about 1-inch rounds)
Yogurt (we used plain Greek)
Fresh fruit: blueberries, strawberries, cherries, peaches
A few extras: granola, shredded coconut, and mint for fun
Drizzle of local honey
How We Did It:
Cut the watermelon into thick rounds or wedges. (You can pre-slice these before the chaos begins!)
Pat each slice dry with a paper towel — this helps the yogurt stick better.
Let the kids spread yogurt on top like “frosting.”
Top with fruit and any extras they like.
Serve— just hand over a wedge and let them dig in!
Why I Love This Snack:
✔️ No cooking
✔️ Easy to prep ahead
✔️ Great way to use up farmers market fruit
✔️ Fun + food = quiet(ish) snack time
✔️ Encourages kids to try new things
A Real-Life Tip:
I laid out all the toppings buffet-style and let the kids build their own. Some piled on fruit like a rainbow, others went heavy on the yogurt and granola. Either way, it kept their hands busy and got them excited about what they were eating.
